My name is Alyssa Cloherty. I am very excited to join the SAL team as a second grade teacher. I love second grade! It is such an exciting year of growth. I am originally from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. I taught for 10 years in Illinois at both a Catholic and a public school. During that time I received a Master of Arts in Instructional Leadership, got married and had children. When we moved to the Lake Country area 10 years ago I decided to stay home with my children. In 2017 I started working part time at Bethlehem Lutheran Preschool in Wales filling various roles. 

My husband Mike and I have three children; 9, 10, and 11 who attend St. Anthony on the Lake. In my free time you will find me at the soccer fields, ice rink or dance studio. I also enjoy spending time up north, reading and watching sports (sorry I’m a Chicago fan!) 

I am looking forward to a wonderful year in second grade watching the students grow academically and spiritually!
